Read: Learn About Batch Picking

How Orders are Sorted by Default

When Batch Picking, orders are optimized by default to be organized by Required Ship Date. This being the critical deadline for orders to be fulfilled and shipped on time, avoiding late orders which your customers don't like.

Tip: The fastest way to Batch Pick

There are two available options to sort orders, which can be modified using the following steps:

  1. Using the top menu, click My Account, then click Settings
  2. Click App Settings
  3. Scroll to bottom of the page to last option labeled "Batch Picking Type"

Optimize Batches to Minimize Walk (Default)

Batch Picking is prioritized using orders by the Required Ship Date. Optimizing the Pickers journey through the warehouse (minimizing walking distance).

Optimize Batches by Priority then Required Ship Date

Batch Picking is prioritized firstly by any orders marked as Priority, and then by Required Ship Date. The Pickers journey through the warehouse is NOT optimized.

This could result in the Picker making multiple trips across the warehouse space to pick SKUs for orders and is not recommended.
